Here I’m again with another post for “The Little Black Dress” series. Today, I’ll show you how to look stylish, wearing the most simple black dress you own. However, I never thought I could be so excited to talk about black outfits. Before, I used to think that my style was rich in color, but now, I guess I was wrong! I’m currently on my third post about styling a simple black dress, but the gushing feeling is still there.
Styling opportunities from a simple black dress
But even so, I’m still in awe about the many styling opportunities of a little simple black dress. So many things can be done to upgrade anyone’s look at a fraction of a cost and time!
By the way, I’m so in love with the simple black dress style. That, I’m having some ideas on how to style a maxi black dress for a spring and summer day with colorful accessories to soften the look and make it even more fun.

Alright, here we go!
In this picture, I’m wearing a basic black dress, and I love it because you can wear it for just about anything! You can wear it for:
- Date nights
- Regular workdays
- Sunday at the church
- Birthday parties
- Weddings,
- Showers
The list of a simple black dress options goes on!
In this case, I wore this dress to a Christmas party. And so, again, one more Christmas party. Similarly, as mentioned in my earlier little black dress series. I wore black to hide away the extra pounds. At this time, the extra pounds I gained from enjoying a vacation in South Carolina two months before the party. I have to tell you; The black dress trick Worked great!
In the first place, and more importantly, I had a joyful time at the party, and I felt beautiful wearing this dress! Certainly, It was a perfect outfit to wear that night. Even more, I attracted a lot of compliments from everyone around me!
Why and what made this simple black dress different.
The usual go-to pairings with a black dress are:
✔ black shoes
✔ nude shoes
✔ sparkling or sterling jewelry
But I dared myself to be a little adventurous on this one. Therefore, I wore a pair of silver shine boots in high heels with a chunk antique necklace, which I got years ago from a flee market.
You would think those are contrasting options, but I found out from mixing and matching that it’s not! As a matter of fact, It made the outfit stand out elegantly, which was the look I was aiming for!
Fascinating!
After all, do you know what the best part is for this whole outfit? Notably, this gorgeous black dress cost me less than $50.
Now, how about that? I told you, you don’t have to break the bank to look gorgeous!
