It’s been over a year since the world was placed on lockdown, this is why I miss traveling because of Covid-19. When my kids became a little bit older, we decided to go to a new destination at least once a year. It doesn’t matter if it was domestic travel or an international one, as long as we go somewhere new. It was a new family tradition we were trying to build and it was very new. We were able to travel to Japan and Singapore before Covid-19 happened and for those who aren’t convinced yet, I’m sharing with you all some benefits of traveling that I miss so much.
Peace of Mind
We accumulate so much stress and tension in our daily lives, and travel forces us to break that and appreciate the people around us. When we travel, we can focus more on the stuff we normally take for granted every day. We are brought to a different destination that we disconnect from our normal routine. It then helps us have the peace of mind we have long been wanting to achieve.
Enjoy experiences rather than things.
One of the greatest lessons you can learn from traveling is that we do not need to be happy. It’s not the material things like our cars or the latest gadgets that make us truly happy. It’s our experiences. Whether we travel with a group or travel alone, the experiences that we bring home absolutely help us cope with the daily rigors of life and make us appreciate it all the more.
Broadens your reach and resets your creativity
Traveling helps you connect with people from all walks of life. It allows you to see the world through a different lens, and this will also help you understand the differences we all have with our partners, our families, and co-workers. Travel also aids in resetting our creativity, and so when we come back home, we bring with us new ideas that may assist us in our day-to-day activities.
Leave your comfort zone and learn new stuff.
You know what they say about comfort zones – you have to go out of it to learn something new. Travel teaches you that too. When you are in a foreign place, you interact with the locals, speak their language, eat their food. When in Rome, you do as the Romans do. When you come home, you bring the learnings with you, and you are never the same.
Be more patient
If you are having issues with patience, travel will teach you how to have more of it. You learn to let go of the small stuff and choose your battles. Whether your flight gets canceled, having difficulty with the language barrier, or other small frustrations along the way, these are valuable lessons in patience. And these lessons will go a long, long way. Trust me.
I miss traveling because of Covid-19. Sure, we can travel now, but it was not as easy as before. It is also so much more expensive now. Not to mention the risk you are going to face while traveling. I pray that the pandemic ends soon so we can all go back to traveling and experience all these benefits again.
Remember always to stay safe and practice the health protocols. These are some of the reasons Why I Miss Travelling Because of Covid-19.
